Kudos to this busy mom who is always on the go! She reached out to me to update her family portraits with her three gorgeous daughters. The oldest just made the switch from glasses to contacts, which is a pretty big milestone for a young lady.
Pressing the Pause Button
Of course, life does not pause for family photo opportunities, but Mom knows how important it is to never miss a moment. So, after jumping in the car after a soccer game with handfuls of snacks, the four ladies drove on over to Moraine Park inside breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park (located in Estes Park, CO). If you’re not familiar with the area, you read that right: a park inside a park inside a park…quite the trek for these four, but well worth it! Needless to say, I was impressed by how put together they looked after their mom told me that they dressed and did their hair on the way over! I was super chilly, but all of the hustling kept them warm on this cold November evening.
I love shooting in Moraine park because it has the perfect mix of scenery—a large, wide-open valley (sometimes you can even see moose or elk out grazing), with a perfect view of the majestic mountains in the background. The colors layer beautifully out here! Golden grass covers the ground with shoots of crimson grasses sprouting up here and there. Above that, the evergreen-covered hillside provides a stark contrast along with the slate-colored mountains and snowy tops higher up. Amazing!! Like I said, well worth the trip if you’re ever out this way.
I am so glad that this wonderful family took time out of their busy schedules for a few updated portraits—they were so sweet and fun to work with. With these girls as models, I think they came out pretty great!
