This little girl was a hoot! She was 3 (almost 4 she says!). Her little heart of gold was already very apparent. She just wanted to hold my hand and hug on me instead of getting her photos done. What a sweet girl. I wore a fuzzy bear hat to the photo session because its super silly and most kids will actually look at it (and therefore look at the camera), but she wanted to wear it—so of course I let her! I have to say that she pulled it off much better than I did as it draped across her little body, her sweet blue eyes and rosy cheeks peeking out underneath.

Perfect Timing for a Snow Day

Our timing could not have been more perfect. It just snowed the day before at Cottonwood Park in Parker, Colorado, and these were shot at noon. The sun was already working its magic to melt it off and provide some warmth on this chilly day. We had just enough powder-white snow left. I love the colors in these photos. The bright blue sky and sunshine reflected the glistening snow, while the golden and rust-colored grasses provided some warmth and depth. Gorgeous!

I hope the Lamberts had as much fun as I did crunching through the leftover snow and exploring in the fresh air. I love that photography helps us slow things down and enjoy precious family moments like these as we head into the joyful but busy holiday season. It helps keep us grounded and focused on what is most important, even when everyone else is hustling and bustling around us. Happy holidays, Lambert Family!
